Why is the B-class sedan more spacious than the C-Class sedan?

When I read the parameters and look directly at the models, I see that the back of the limousine B is always bigger than the C-Class car (Nguyen Hoang).

Honda has City compared to Civic, Toyota has Vios compared to Corolla Altis, Mazda is Mazda2 compared to Mazda3, Ford has Fiesta compared to Focus. Here I compare only models with "same house" because each car company has its own design orientation. Thanks to those who have more advisory experience. Thank you

For example:

Honda City: 536 liters, Honda Civic Sedan: 428 liters

Mazda2 sedan: 440 liters, Mazda3 sedan: 414 liters

Toyota Vios: 506 liters, Toyota Altis: 470 liters
