Addicted to video games: "I had 7 years playing video games in my gadgets and not leaving my home"

Then there was addiction with video games.

Brown, who is now 24 years old, left his college and spent years following home, playing video games and reading about politics.

The addiction to video games was treated by the World Health Organization as a mental illness.

It has subsided almost entirely to the web of "high-profile chambers" (high-powered cameras, the emergence of social networks, which cause information to be reinforced so that people only read what they are linking to).

In this virtual world, the impulse of extremism and cybercrime has been caught, he says.

Suicidal thoughts

Brown, born in Ashton, a small town in southern England, the United Kingdom, says he has become increasingly "eccentric" and has lost contact with reality.

In the end, he decided to seek help and ended his participation in Game Changer, the Real Ideas Organization (RIO), a British institution that runs educational projects.

The purpose of the initiative is to encourage young people to develop their skills and overcome the problems they face before they are employed.

Now, only 14 months after leaving the prison for the first time, Brown decided to create his way to improve the lives of those who went through the same thing as he: playing on board.

He hopes that young people will feel more inclined to socialize with other people, instead of spending hours in front of their computers.

Changing videos for a role-playing game

The game, created by Billy, is intended for small groups.

Players meet once a week for weeks or months and improve their social skills while playing.

In addition to cubes and cards that describe characters, it does not need anything more than a pencil and paper.

The idea is that participants earn points by reaching a range of goals. They can improve their characters by earning extra points for actions in the "real" world.

There is a digital part in which participants exchange tasks they have completed, but almost the entire game is based on offline work.

"It's my way of returning to the community, my way of getting people to hang out and hang out," Brown says of the game.

The game is not only for video game addicts, but also for those who for some reason suffer from isolation.

Brown, who began his first post as a social worker who supports young people, saw his horizons spread in a way that he would not have believed a few years ago.

The role played by him is based on the "buying power of the community".

"People spend a few hours playing games to determine if their character is developing," she says.

"But what if they see themselves developing?"
