Almost 35,000 tickets were sold for the Ghost festival, but, as the initiators predict, they did not happen last weekend.

The festival is a major support campaign for Swiss musicians affected by Corona, who raised 1.2 million francs through ticket sales and support funds.
The campaign is not over yet – the final amount of support will be announced in a month.
The weekend of the Ghost Festival was over and, as announced by the initiators, nothing happened – and yet much: for an event that is not an event but a large-scale support campaign for Swiss musicians affected by the effects of the pandemic, 34,500 tickets were sold at midnight. This will be announced on Monday by Ghost Club, the collective behind the non-festival.
Together with the money donated by culture lovers since the publication in mid-January, more than 1.2 million Swiss francs have been received, which is entirely intended for the participating musicians and their teams (lighting and sound technicians, tour leaders *). inside, the designers of the dealers – all who help) are passed on.
“That amount is already huge,” says media spokeswoman Gisela Feuz for about 20 minutes, “but the fact that so many people are in solidarity is all the more valuable.” In the age of digital free culture, this is not self-evident.
1000 francs of support per person
There were 295 acts in the ensemble; the said sum is thus distributed among a total of 1299 musicians, which theoretically means about 1000 francs per person. In practice, according to the Ghost Club, some actions completely waive this fee (and leave it to others because they need more), while in others, for example, only the crew is paid, not the actual band. occurs.
The makers deliberately do not disclose who waives the fee or part of it, Feuz believes: “No one should be released or trapped. One thing is for sure: everything is clearly arranged.”
This also applies to the money the festival partners raise by selling merchandise and CDs (with the sounds of the spirit from a large part of the participating campaigns – 1,200 pieces already sold, so those responsible will be placed in the top 10 next week on the Swiss album charts): hourly rates and material costs, the entire remaining amount also flows into the wallet of the goods.
The final amount will follow in early April
The purchase of goods and the release of money via the support button on the website is still possible until March 14, after which the bill will be charged and the initiators promise the final amount (“presented by our external trust office”), which they send to the few. 300 participating acts and – logically – will be even higher than the aforementioned 1.2 million francs.
