Skåne Region leads – many more cases of sepsis have been missed
An infectious disease wound developed into a sepsis in a cancerous woman. A three-year-old kid who was in hospital due to a throat infection did not wake up the next morning. These are two deadly episodes of death, such as Lex Maria, reported in Skåne only this year.

In 2012, the acute Malmö introduced an alarm for sepsis, first in Sweden. On the basis of a checklist of suspicious symptoms, patients get antibiotics in one hour.
Although the Skåne region leads to the attention and treatment of sepsis, healthcare still misses many warning signs.
