Debate: "Everyone has to know that he can and can choose a school"


The equivalent school network shows a negative image of the elections in SN 13/11. Especially criticize entrepreneurship at school. The feeling is that they are opposed to entrepreneurship and not to an equivalent school.

Researchers have recently dismissed the fact that school segregation explains poor results. Nevertheless, the network believes that school inability to take students even to an approved level depends on the student base. Surprisingly, they do not mention the importance of teachers or the quality of teaching – the factors that research shows are very important for the results.

Students' indebtedness must end. How do they feel in the ears of a learner who hears from adults that poor results depend on the student's own background?

Choosing a school is an opportunity. I want to emphasize a few things about choosing a school that does not tell the network.

Unlike the rest of the world, Sweden has replaced traditional expensive private schools for a small click, rich with the possibility that all choose all schools. This is the system of choice that we will protect. When the wall thickness is not important, the option of choosing a school becomes more equivalent.

As more and more people choose a healthy school, Sweden's results are improving in international knowledge research. On the contrary, what the network says.

By choosing a school, children can go to school in another place from where they live. Extreme freedom of choice does not solve school segregation, because it is cemented because the separation of schools in the absolute maximum depends on the separation of dwellings. And uploading labels on children and mixing them "right", as the network shows, does not fit our time and does not support the public.

Business at school allows more people. Without school companies wanting to grow, only a few people would go to the school they want. Nevertheless, this is a critique criticized by the authors.

In order for school elections to achieve the best effects, more people need an informed choice of school. The school elections were over 25 years old, but the company did not inform citizens about it. For several years, municipalities have been forced to adopt legislative proposals to inform about school elections. They always had the opportunity.

An increasing number of municipalities are now introducing compulsory school choices in municipal schools. This applies to social-democratic municipalities and municipalities under the control of the municipality. With a more complete picture of which schools are attractive, it becomes an opportunity for school development. What special schools are doing so well? Why is not another school selected? And is it right to put students in schools that nobody actively chooses?

Politicians must not restrict freedom of choice. They will allow good schools to inspire others, spread good examples, encourage good schools to grow and inform about the right to choose.

Friskolorns Riksförbund wants to develop freedom of choice. Everyone should know that they can choose a school.
