It is understandable that they are conditioned by strict diet and proper nutrition. What exactly do cyclists eat on Tour de France and how often? We Love Cycling magazine is committed to answering these fan issues.

In the classic competition day, riders need a rich breakfast. These must contain a lot of slow carbohydrates, high-quality proteins and healthy fats. At nine o'clock in the morning there must be nothing to overload the stomach, as the phase usually begins three hours later.
"Breakfast is served with a bowl of oatmeal walnuts, a great omelette, three sandwiches with ham and cheese, 100g of pasta, yogurt, 500ml fruit smoothie, a glass of apple juice and coffee," experts say.
If anyone thinks it's too much, it's really the opposite. The time on the bus, which leads to the beginning of the stage, reduces the rider who supplies the body with energy. As a rule, they are only energy poles and fruits, they drink water and add more coffee. This is called a pre-competitive snack or a simple snack. In general, the competitor must eat up to the stage as much as possible so that he can spend a lot of the performance during the show.

Cycling depends on the seriousness of the stage. They spend a lot of time on the plane to search in the peloton so they do not need much added carbohydrates. They still have enough fat in the body to burn. It's different in demanding mountain chains. There the situation requires a lot of new energy, mostly in a mixture of real food and gel. In this way, they must supplement about 60-90 g of carbohydrates per hour.
All this contains two rice, a jar of ham and ham, six energy plates, two isotonic gels, two cans of Coca-Cola and six beverages of electrolytic beverages.
The average rate in the Tour de France lasts about five hours and arrives at 17:00 on the target. Then you have to eat again. Immediately after the end of the stage, the competitor receives a regenerative drink, which must be drunk. This is followed by a move to the bus, where daily filling of important substances begins.
