MELBOURNE: Attacking midfielder Tom Rogic and Robbie Kruse's winger have suffered minor injuries and were released from a 24-member Australian team for a friendly match against Lebanon, the team reported on Sunday.
The pair were in draw 1-1 against South Korea on Saturday, but will be rested for the second heat of the Asian Cup in Sydney, said Socceroos coach Graham Arnold.
"On Tuesday, the match against Lebanon is a short turn, so Tom and Robbie, who responded perfectly Saturday night, but had minor knee and fog damage, will not be at risk," said Arnold in the team's team.
Sydney FC's unreserved defender Rhyan Grant and Adelaide United winger Craig Goodwin enter the team together with the applicant Tim Cahill, who will reach his 108th and last appearance in Australia after his retirement from the international football.
Arnold will miss another player in the match.
