China confirms new outbreak of African swine fever in Hubei province | News


The Chinese Ministry of Agriculture confirmed on Thursday a new outbreak of African swine fever near Huangguang in the central province of Hubei.

The eruption took place at the farm of 636 pigs in Xishui district, he said, adding that 13 were already dead and 24 more were sick.

China, the world's largest pork producer, reported more than 60 cases of fatal disease in 17 provinces.
