A rescued food delivery service on an e-scooter that was charged with a 65-year-old woman on Bukit Batok, void deck, Courts & Crime News & Top Stories


SINGAPORE – The e-scooter rider was arrested when he was on the empty deck of the block Bukit Batok on Friday evening (12 April) in a 65-year-old woman.

Police said on Saturday that they were informed about the incident that occurred in Block 186 Bukit Batok West Avenue 6, around 19.15 on Friday.

The Chinese daily Lianhe Wanbao said that the woman checked her mailbox on the empty deck of her apartment block when the rider hit her.

Wanbao says that the woman fell to the ground after being hit.

The police said that the woman was conscious when she was taken to the General Hospital Ng Teng Fong, while a 33-year-old rider was arrested for the worst act that caused the damage.

Straits Times understands that the rider was a food delivery person.

The Active Mobility Act regulating the use of bicycles, e-bikes and personal mobile devices (PMD) on footpaths, joint cycling routes and roads came into force in May last year.

Between this month and December last year, 2,553 criminal offenses were committed by law.

In February this year, the speed limit for bikes and PMDs on the footpath was reduced from the 15th to the 10th.
