Foot: 24 teams qualified for CAN 2019 are known


South Africa, Benin, DR Congo, Tanzania and Zimbabwe took the last five places in the final of the African Nations Cup on June 24 (June 21 – July 19). We now know 24 teams that will be playing CAN 2019. The main absences in Egypt will be Burkina Faso, Gabon, Togo and Zambia.

It took 144 games and 24 months waiting to know the teams that will play the next football in the African Cup of Nations, the first with 24 countries. The CAN 2019 qualifications ended on March 24, almost two years before the day after the first appearance.

DR Congo will

Five places in the last stage have remained in the game this Sunday. They went to South Africa, Benin, DR Congo, Tanzania and Zimbabwe. South Africans have won the final ticket overcoming the Libyans 2-1in the E. Tanzanci group they complained against Uganda (3-0) in group L.

In group G, they are the most undecided of these finishes, Zimbabwe and DR Congo have reached a milestone. The Zimbabweans destroyed the hope of Congolese "Red Devils" (2-0), while their neighbors DRC is against Liberia (1-0).

Benin is back

In group D, Benin is the best (2-1) over Togolese as well as the second map for CAN 2019 – the first one that has already been promised to Algeria. After nine years of absence, "Squirrels" will return to the African Cup of Nations.

On the other hand, Togo's star Emmanuel Adebayor and coach of "Sparrowhawks", Frenchman Claude Le Roy, will not celebrate this summer.

Some rare noticeable absences

The second big figure of African football will not be in CAN 2019: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. His Gabon team will be among the top 32 in the 32nd edition of the tournament. The list, which also includes Burkina Faso, finalist of 2013 and third in 2017 and Zambia, winner of CAN 2012.

Drawing CAN 2019 will take place without these countries on April 12 in Giza. The draw, in which 24 qualifiers will be divided into six groups of four teams.
