Media: Nissan's leader Carlos Gon is facing up to 10 years in prison – incidents

TOKYO, November 20. / Tass /. The head of the Japanese car group Nissan, Carlos Gon, who was arrested on Monday for suspected fraud, faces up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to 10 million yen (nearly $ 89,000). This was announced on Tuesday by Kyodo agency

In his opinion, Nissan has already concluded a plea agreement with the investigating authorities. He also provided full cooperation with the prosecution. In Tokyo, they do not rule out that this could soften the fate of the arrested.

Gon, 64, and Giss Kelly, an extraordinarily tight member of Nissan's board of directors, masked investigators from Japan on Monday for the financial crisis in the applicant's arrest office. In five years, Carlos Ghosn got about 10 billion yen (nearly $ 89 million) as a Nissan award. At the same time, he reported about half of the taxes. Ghosn is expected to be officially fired from his post as chairman of the Nissan Governing Board on November 22.

As Kyodo says, the entrepreneur also used elite residences in the Netherlands and three other countries bought and serviced free of charge by Nissan funds. The investigation believes that such privileges should also be received.

French citizen Carlos Ghosn is still formally led by the tripartite alliance of Nissan, French Renault and the Japanese Mitsubishi Motors, which is the world's leading carmaker. In the first six months of 2018, it sold 5.54 million vehicles worldwide. In second place is Volkswagen Group – 5.52 million cars.
