Ford will borrow the technology from an old Soviet engine – the Engine

As reported by Motor Trend, citing its own sources in Ford, the group has launched a project to study the ignition technology of the ignition system for gasoline engines. Engineers plan to adapt it for the 3.5-liter V6 engine from the EcoBoost family: it is assumed that the introduction of pre-chamber ignition will allow the engine to reduce fuel consumption by 23%, while reducing engine weight by 15%. Ford doesn’t mention whether this technology can have the effect of increasing power – the current V6 EcoBoost engine develops 400 horsepower. The project will cost $ 10 million and will run for three years.
