Huawei is expanding its product range in Romania, and along with the electric toothbrush we talked about a few days ago, it has also launched a wireless network router. It’s called HUAWEI WiFi Mesh, and we’ve added the main specifications to this article.
It is a network system that can be used with 2 or 3 units. Coverage reaches up to 300 square meters (Huawei says it would be about 120 square meters / unit). It uses a 1.4 GHz quad-core Gigahome processor with 256 MB of RAM, 128 MB of flash and 12880 DMIPS of computing power, and speeds can reach up to 2200 Mbps (2.4 GHz and up to 400 Mbps, 5 GHz – low frequencies and up to 867 Mbps and 5 GHz – high frequencies and up to 867 Mbps). As for the wireless network, it has Wi-Fi according to the a / b / g / n / ac standards, with 2 x MIMO for extra speed on compatible devices.
You can set it up quickly with your Android NFC phone, tap the router at the top and run the initial settings. The HUAWEI AI Life application is also required to manage the network system.
They also introduced a security algorithm called HUAWEI HomeSec which would prevent unauthorized access to the network (a software solution approved by the European Union for compliance with the GDPR). Each unit in the HUAWEI WiFi Mesh network includes six powerful amplifiers. The interface has a 10/100/1000 Mbps WAN port and 3 x 10/100/1000 Mbps LAN.
Each unit weighs 580 gr. and the dimensions are 104 mm in diameter x 210 mm in height. Prices start at 899 lei and were offered by Huawei partners yesterday (I didn’t find them on the eMAG or Altex list).
As a small conclusion, I looked at the specifications and I assume that the elements it comes out with give ease of use, coverage in a large space, easy setup with a smartphone. To make the landscape perfect, I would like to find Wi-Fi shaft accessibility. On the other hand, the price is right.
