President Paul Kagame and Alibaba's CEO Jack Ma signed the agreement aimed at promoting the digital economy and tourism for consumers in Rwanda and China.
Rwanda became Africa's first country to create an eWTP platform, a global public-private initiative that promotes Rwanda's SME sales to Chinese consumers, including coffee and crafts.
With over 500 million consumers, Alibaba is the world's largest online trading platform. The Chinese Travel Service Platform Fliggy and the Rwandan Development Council will also promote this country as a tourist destination with an online store to book flights, hotels and travel experiences.
