Lebanese Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri discussed today (Monday) with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov the composition of the Lebanese government and Russian assistance to Lebanon in the fight against the Corona.
According to a statement from Hariri’s media office, both sides discussed the social and political crisis in Lebanon during the call, emphasizing the need to quickly form an important Hariri-led government that won a majority in parliament, as well as the Lebanese president’s appointment. Michel Aoun, according to what was reported by the German news agency.
The statement said both sides also discussed “the issue of Russia’s side’s assistance to Lebanon in the fight against (coronary) disease, including the sending of a series of vaccines to Beirut”.
It should be noted that Hariri was assigned on 22 October to form a new government to succeed the government of Hassan Diab, which resigned on 10 August due to an explosion in a fourth-month port in Beirut.
On December 9, Hariri Aoun was awarded a cabinet consisting of 18 ministers.
On the other hand, President Aoun presented to the Prime Minister a comprehensive proposal for the proposed composition of the government. So far, the formation of the new government that Hariri wants from experts has stopped.
