Wicklow Fianna Fáil Pat Casey TD welcomed the news that the planning permission was completed for the project of a large data center, located on the Avoca River in Arklow Park.

"Today, the planning was confirmed by Board Pleanal for the data center. I've been working on this project for almost two years and I'm happy to have reached this level. This means that the planning permission can continue until the beginning and beginning of an exciting new period of high technology for Arklow and South Wicklow

"This is the largest investment in the industry in Wicklow for generations, and I am happy to be involved in ensuring that this project is withdrawn. The data center is just changing the games in the South Wicklow region, but Echelon has interesting plans for this iconic web site. «

"With the Crag Digital project, I am now working for Echelon for seventeen months. The initial investment is more than 500 million Euros and will transform this brown area into an important data center with 100 megawatts of capacity in Phase 1, which will attract industries in the valuable technology and software sector.

"In addition to the 450 construction works that will be required for a significant site remediation, the data center will first employ 90 highly qualified jobs and in the future will become the hub of a business park, which is the model by which data from US Centers developed into. Technological companies prefer to search right next to these data centers, so the potential is not only for Arklow, but for the South Wicklow region very exciting.

"This development of Echelon is the beginning of a new period of industrial development and jobs for Arklow, and I am pleased to help integrate this project into this key country. I will continue to work closely with this company, IDA and the Council of County Wicklow to ensure that this project enters into construction. Recruiting, based on Wicklow, is one of my main priorities and I am determined that this project will benefit jobs and commercial activities not only in Arklow, but also throughout the entire South Wicklow region. «
