JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Head of Disease Prevention and Control, DKI Jakarta, Health Office, Dwi Oktavia, said Jakarta is currently entering a climax to add Covid-19 cases with the effect of long holidays on Christmas 2020 and New Year 2021.
He said the long Christmas and New Year holidays have an immediate effect or the first generation is forecast 14 days after the holidays.
“Namely, from January 17 to January 31, 2021,” Dwi said in a written statement Wednesday (January 20, 2021).
For this reason, Dwi asked the public to be aware of the family clusters that are likely to be the fastest due to the spread of Covid-19 due to the effects of long vacations.

“Care must be taken to increase the family cluster,” he said.
From 3 to 17 January 2021, 442 family clusters were recorded in Jakarta with 1,241 positive Covid-19 cases. Most of them traveled from West Java, Central Java, DIY and from Banten, and the perpetrators usually used private vehicles.
Dwi urged the public to implement stricter health protocols and avoid congestion at the time of the largest increase in cases. He also warned people to warn people around them to continue implementing health protocols.
“For residents who already have positive Covid-19 screening results, they can contact the nearest public health center to determine the status of their complaints,” he said.
