Johnson & Johnson firmly rejected a news report saying that for decades the company knew that asbestos for babies were in childhood
The report, published on Reuters news agency on Friday, caused the company's stock to diminish and the company's worst stock auction after 16 years.
Reuters has listed the documents published in the complaint alleging that the product may be associated with ovarian cancer.
New Jersey has challenged such accusations in court, and on Friday it confirmed the Reuters report "Tendent, fake and flammable".
Drop in the bag
Shares decreased by more than 9%, which is the strongest decline since 2002.
In his Reuters report, he says that there are documents that show that laboratories that hired counsel found asbestos in J & J from 1957 and 1958.
Later reports from companies and external laboratories gave similar conclusions until the early 2000s.
In a statement on Friday, Johnson & Johnson said that "Thousands of independent tests carried out by regulators and leading global laboratories have proven that our baby powder has never had asbestos".
Despite what the company said, the company is currently facing more than 10,000 lawsuits, mostly for cases of ovarian cancer.
