VANCOUVER – The day after the hiring of DeVone Claybrooks as head coach, BC Lions made some coaching changes on Thursday.
Defense coordinator Mark Washington, special team coordinator Jeff Reinebold, trainer coach Chris Tormey, defense coach Randy Melvin, defense assistant coach Stanley Franks and premier coach Mike Lionell will not offer contracts for the 2019 season.
"On behalf of the BC Lions football club, I sincerely thank each of these gentlemen for their time and dedicated services to our team," said GM Ed Hervey. "We are grateful for their hard work and we wish them the best in the future."
Lions also announced that offensive coordinator Jarious Jackson will return in 2019 and the receiver coach Markus Howell also agreed on the terms of the contract. Additional members of Coaching staff 2019 will be announced in the coming days.
