Google Pixel users may already allow Google Assistant to be activated when the device is locked, but the feature will soon be available to all Android users.
According to Google's announcement announcement on January 8, 2019, Google Assistant will soon be able to respond to inquiries "even when your Android phone is locked."
"You can ask Google's assistant to show restaurants nearby, edit and drop alerts, deploy reminders and hours without unlocking the phone," says a passage from the same press release on January 8th.
"You can also include responses to personal inquiries, such as traffic updates or calendar updates."
The news was part of a series of updates related to Google's helpers that Google did as part of the CES 2019 release.
