NHL, adidas reveals eco-friendly jerseys for the 2019 All-Star Game

The new special race adizero Authentic Pro x Parley will be wearing the best NHL players exclusively for SAP's All-Star SAP NHL ™ on Friday, January 25 (at 18:00, 21:00 ET, NBCSN, SN, CBC); TVAS) and for the Honda All-Star 2019 Honda NHL event on Saturday, January 26 (at 5 pm ET, NBC, SN, CBC, TVAS) at SAP Center in San Jose, California, home to San Jose Sharks.

Each T-shirt is made with Parley Ocean Plastic ™, a series of materials made from recycled marine plastic scrap, and is designed to be a symbol of change in the ocean protection movement. The adidas x Parley partnership, which represents a threat to the filament, gives a new purpose to plastic bottles (polyester) and other plastic wastes intercepted in marine environments. Adidas and Parley, as part of their partnership and joint efforts to eliminate marine plastic pollution with the Parley AIR strategy (Avoid, Cancel, Transform), convert these various marine plastic wastes into the technical fibers that create the material frame of a durable but airy fabric that is optimal for adidas clothing.

"As a creative sports brand we create products tailored to the athlete, their sport, life and the world, and we are excited to be able to present a special edition of adizero Authentic Pro x Parley jerseys," said Dan Near, director of adidas Hockey. "This initiative continues adidas's commitment to bring the brand's biggest initiative to hockey sport led by ADIZERO – a lighter, cooler, stronger jersey that has redefined fit, feel and lightweight construction, followed by SPEEDFACTORY – the first ever running shoes created for Stanley Cup®, and now the introduction of Parleya into the adidas Authentic NHL jerseys – the first ecologically conscious hockey jersey.

"NHL is a recognized leader in tackling the major environmental challenges and keeping the roots of our game," said Brian Jennings, NHL's lead manager and executive vice president. "Adidas has been an incredible partner in our endeavors and shares our commitment to promoting sustainable business practices. Every year, the NHL All-Star Weekend serves as an opportunity to present innovation in all aspects of our game." San Jose is a great adidas setting to present ecological aware shirts that complement our focus on environmental governance. "

Inspired by the colors of the game – fresh white, like fresh ice plate and contrasting black, as a whole new puck – environmentally-conscious uniforms create an immediate classical aesthetics that is given to the game tools. In order to create a more contemporary look, the jerseys are equipped with the crest of each team, which is the first time that team logos are used for the shingles of the All-Star NHL. Previously, All-Star jerseys presented the NHL shield and the logo of the conference.

Additional design details include contrasting black or white perforated numbers, sleeve names and straps, along with the 2019 NHL All-Star event on the right shoulder. The Parley logo, which marks a genuine jersey and symbolizes eco-innovation in the ocean protection movement, is displayed inside the back of the collar. For a three-game tournament – played in the 3-in-3 format with four teams – the home team will wear a black and visiting team will wear white jerseys.

At the forefront of innovation, design and craftsmanship, the adidas adizero Authentic jersey takes the hockey jersey silhouette to the next level by redefining fit, feeling and lightweight designs. Adidas adizero Authentic jersey is lightweight, colder and stronger with adibero lightweight and twisted numbers, adidas Clima® technology and Aeroknit details, platinum NHL shields and internal battle tape.

Special Edition adidas adidas Authentic Pro NHL All-Star x Parley jerseys will be available for $ 200 USD | $ 220 CAD at adidas.com, adidas.CA, NHLShop.com, NHLShop.ca and NHL stores. Adidas is committed to increasing the use of eco-innovative materials such as Parley Ocean Plastic® and regenerated ECONYL® yarn in its products as a substitute for primary plastics and symbols and a catalyst for long-term changes. In addition to the special edition of adizero Authentic Pro x Parley jerseys, each player and trainer will also receive the adidas x Parley tool, including adidas ZNE sweaters and pants. In addition, the NHL All-Star Weekend will include Parley with more activations at Fan Fest and within the SAP Arena Arena.
