You will soon be able to see extra security when you next stop at the local LCBO for beer or spirits.
The Ontario liquidity monitoring committee has announced that it is extending its Trade Action Plan to protect consumer safety and prevent theft.
In a message to Blackburn News, a LCBO spokesman said the plan would expand to three existing priorities: increasing security personnel at selected LCBO locations, introducing new and leading anti-theft technologies, and continuing compulsory training for all LCBO employees. for safe action and credible witnesses when theft occurs.
In addition to several security guards at selected locations, LCBO will continue to discover ways to limit theft and improve customer and employee safety at all points of sale.
Since April 2018, LCBO has said that the LCBO Security Treaty and the local police have arrested more than 850 suspects in connection with theft of alcohol in Toronto. Thousands of accusations were filed.
It was not disclosed which sales outlets could see additional security.
