MOSCOW – The Russian Space Agency says its experts are trying to solve problems that blocked control of the orbital radio telescope.
Satellite Spektr-R continues to transmit signals, but scientists since Friday were unable to control the satellite.
The satellite was launched in 2011 and has exceeded the original life expectancy of about three years. It is used to explore radio sources inside and outside the Earth's galaxy.
Roscosmos, a Russian space agency official, Alexander Bloshenko, said on Saturday that another attempt to establish satellite control will take place on Sunday.
