CORRECTION-Abilio Diniz sells a 2.55% stake in Carrefour Brasil, a real source

Península Participações, under the control of businessman Abilio Diniz, sold a 2.55 percent stake Carrefour Brasil CRFB3.SA on Friday for 805 million reais, a source familiar with these issues said.

With the sale, which was carried out in block B3 São Paulo, Diniz reduced its stake in Carrefour Brasil to 8.91 percent, said the source. The peninsula retained a 7.76% stake in the French Carrefour CARR.PA group, a source added.

Península confirmed the block sale of shares and said it would continue with two seats in the Carrefour Management Board of Brazil and two seats at the Carrefour Management Board.

The Holding Company said that the sale of the share reduced its investment in Carrefour Brazil in a timely manner.

The company also announced that it will continue to actively participate in the development of the Carrefour and Carrefour Brasil Group.

At 14:15, Carrefour Brasil's shares fell 6.75 percent, while GPA rival PCAR4.SA>, already controlled by Diniz, fell by 0.42 percent and Ibovespa. BVP> showed a drop of 1.3 percent.
