One of the regions still in the red belt – Chaudière-Appalaches – has less active cases per 100,000 population than on Tuesday in Outaouais.
Since the onset of the health crisis, a total of 6,193 cases of COVID-19 have been detected in Outaouais, corresponding to one in 65 people, and the comparison is that the rate of total Quebec is one in 30.
New examples of CHSLD Lionel-Émond
The increase in the number of cases in Outaouais can be attributed, among other things, to the outbreak that affected the Lionel-Émond Housing and Long-Term Care Center (CHSLD) in the hull sector.
On Monday, the Outaouais Integrated Health and Social Care Center (CISSSO) said 23 people were infected there, while “less than five” employees were also affected by the virus.
The ministerial list of CHSLDs affected by the outbreaks, updated on Tuesday, shows that there are now 26 infected people in Lionel-Émond, representing 10% of the total number of people living on the spot.
