Ford confirmed the arrival of hybrid Monde to Argentina: how many "green" cars are in the country

This is already official: the Ford Mondeo hybrid will be sold in Argentina. This was confirmed by the oval's own trademark with a formal statement stating that it will come to the country in the first trimester this year.

This is the first electric vehicle to be marketed by Ford at the local level, although the Pacheco-based company says it forms part of an "ambitious global electrification strategy" so that the "green" area can be complemented in the future. It's a goal they consume less fuel and therefore lower emissions carbon dioxide.

Mondeo is a hybrid car, because combines the 140-liter 2.0-liter engine naftero (This is a four-part Atkinson cycle) with electric power 120 CV (88 kW). The power reaches 187 horses at 6000 rpm and 300 Nm of maximum torque.

According to official data, the result of a combination of these two engines is Hybrid Mondeo consumes only 4.2 liters of oil per 100 km in a mixed cycle. In the city, the consumption drops to 2.8 l / 100 km, and it raises to 5 l / 100 km on the highway.

With this mechanics, accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 9.2 seconds and reaches a top speed of 187 km / h. It has a new electrically-operated steering, a variable automatic transmission and a heat recovery system for heating the interior.

It includes an energy recovery system, with self-supporting high-voltage lithium-ion batteries. It does not need to be plugged in to charge it. It achieves this when braking and braking, as well as with another electric machine powered by a gasoline engine and acting as a generator.

The smaller detail is that the batteries can no longer be connected to the mains, but are located behind the rear seats. This reduces the volume of the luggage from 525 to 383 liters. This is a slightly limited number for a family car, measuring 4,87 meters.

Equipment and price will be confirmed upon launch. The fact is that the payment will "barely" 5 percent of the tariff due to the reduction of taxes, which the government has imposed on electrified vehicles. If this norm does not exist, it should pay 35 percent for its "extrazone" origin.

In this way, Three hybrid vehicles will be sold in Argentina. The other two are Toyota Prius and Mercedes-Benz GLC. The 100% electric range will continue to consist of one model: Renault Kangoo Z.E.
