Police Durban – KwaZulu-Natal is investigating a murder case after a businessman in northern Durban was shot dead on business grounds in Everest Road on Friday afternoon.
The killing took place just at 5 pm, when armed criminals entered the premises and asked for the owner.
Police spokesman Captain Nqobile Gwala said the 49-year-old businessman was shot in the head.
"It is alleged that three unidentified men entered business premises on the Everest Road and asked for the owner. They showed them where his office was, and shot him. He had a gunshot wound on his head and back. He was pronounced dead on the scene. The motive is unknown, "she said.
Blue Security said that a resident living in a neighborhood alerted the police to shoot.
Spokeswoman Andreas Mathios said the businessman was in critical condition when the police arrived on the scene on Friday.
"We suspect three suspects arrived and asked for the owner of the company," Mathios said.
"They were stationed where they were in the building, and between the three suspects and the owner of the company a conflict broke out. It is claimed that two arrows were fired, one was hit by the master in the chest and the other in the head. Emergency medical officers were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, "said Mathios.
