As he confirmed the arrests in a press statement, Hawk’s spokesman Captain Ndivhuwo Mulamu said dr. Tumi by real name Tumisang Victor Makweya (39) and his wife Kgaogelo Sara Makweya (36) among board members in a non-profit organization when the alleged scam lasted. end.

She said they had allegedly submitted amended documents for the 2018 grant for funding.

“Further investigation revealed that the couple, along with co-defendants who have since been released on bail, Chistopher Tshivule (46) and Thomas Ndadza (48), altered data on documents submitted to the National Lotteries in September 2018, which led to transferred more than 1.5 million RM to a private bank account, ”Mulamu said.

“The couple allegedly used about RR 760,000 with the funds. He surrendered at his Johannesburg office accompanied by his lawyer and was then charged with fraud.

“They appeared today at the Specialized Court for Economic Crimes in Palm Ridge and were given bail of R3000. The case was adjourned to the disclosure of documents dated May 7, 2021,” she said.
